Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I sealcoat my asphalt?

There are many factors that contribute to the recommended frequency of sealcoating your driveway such as exposure to the elements, traffic and the condition of the driveway. We recommend getting a sealcoat every two years. We will send you a reminder!

I had a new driveway installed, how long do I need to wait before I can seal it?

We recommend a full 12 months.

How long should I wait before driving on my newly sealed driveway?

You should wait at least 48 hours before driving on the driveway.  You may walk on the driveway within 24 hours. Its extremely important to note however, that temperature, humidity and amount of direct sunlight are contributing factors to dry time as well as curing time. Curing occurs for roughly six weeks and is the molecular change that hardens the asphalt firmly down into the roots of the driveway.

How do I prepare for my driveway to be sealed?

Ensure all the cars are off the driveway by 8am the day of sealing and that other parking arrangements have been made.Sprinkler systems should be off and if possible, landscaping rescheduled if we are coming on the same day.

What happens if it rains on the day my driveway is supposed to be sealed.

As Rochestarians we all know the weather forecast is an educated guess. We do our very best to monitor radar throughout the day. After 1-2 hours of dry time, the rain will not typically ruin the new sealcoat. However, if it does we will gladly touch up or re-seal if necessary. We will not seal the driveway if we predict the rain will wash it away and we will reschedule you for the next date we are in your neighborhood.

How will I know when my driveway will be scheduled?

We will call you the day before we come out. Please be sure to check your voicemail. If you would prefer we can also text/email you the confirmation-just let us know! Please note that we schedule based on location and based on estimate approval date so your driveway will be scheduled on a day where we are working in the neighborhood or close by to other clients.

Can I select a specific date(s) for my driveway to be sealed?

Unfortunately, at this time we commit to special requests due to weather and the fact we schedule based on town and route to maximize the amount of work we can do in a day. We can however accept conditions such as "After" a specific date.

Do you provide a time the crew will be coming?

We can provide a window of time such as 8-12 or 12-5. We will do our best to accommodate a preferred time slot however our route is pre-determined to maximize the amount of work we can completed in a day.

Does ASAP install new driveways or top coats?

We do not at this time. Sealcoating, crackfilling, striping and minor repairs are what we do best!

How much will sealcoating and/or crackfilling my driveway cost?

Each client will receive a unique quote based on square footage for sealing as well as crack damage if applicable. If you have a brand new driveway ready to be sealed, the first sealant application cost more than sealings to follow. This is due to how much product the new asphalt will soak up to ensure proper protection.

What type of discounts do you offer?

ASAP offers both a 10% veteran discount and senior citizen discount. We also offer a group rate for groups over 5.

What are my payment options?

We accept cash, check or online payments through PayPal. We do not require a deposit or payment in advance. Please be mindful to pay sales tax when sending a check.

How do I schedule for a group or neighborhood:

A point person must be selected to submit and be a point of contact for the whole group. No less than 5 can be part of a group booking. If any participant cannot have the service done the date of the rest  of the group they cannot receive the discounted price. Prior to submitted the estimate or request, all addresses must be collected by the point person so we may give the most accurate estimate.
