Hot Applied Crackfiller
Over the past 6 years we have learned that using cold applied crackfillers in our climate just doesn't work as well as hot applied crackfillers. We have always used the hot applied fillers in our commercial work but trying to do it on a residential driveway was always too tough until they came out with a new machine that makes it possible for us to apply it on residential driveways. This machine will enable us to provide the high quality rubberized tar more efficiently and cost-effective to the residential customer. Let's face it, our winters are some of the toughest and coldest around. Cracks open and close as the temperature gets warmer and colder. As soon as that crack moves for the first time the cold applied fillers are just not flexible enough to move with the crack and breakup allowing water to re-enter the crack all winter long. With Hot applied fillers, we heat the rubberized tar to a liquid form and then pour it into the crack, as it enters the crack it forms to the crack and seals it off completely. This rubberized tar stays flexible and moves with the crack for years and years so that it will last through many of our harsh winters. This is the same process, using the same material the towns and villages use on their streets to seal off cracks and prevent further water damage.
